The decision comes just days after Stewart claimed the 2016 Monster Energy Supercross Series 250 East Coast Regional Championship, which due to the \u201cpointing out\u201d rules in effect for the class, which forces\u00a0him to the 450 class beginning in\u00a02017.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Stewart announced on the podium Saturday night during his celebration that he would be moving up to the premier class in 2017, but despite many questions in post-race interviews was unable to confirm whether or not he\u2019d line up for the summer.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The\u00a0original contract between rider and\u00a0the team was for the full year, Nationals included, but as Supercross wound down rumors that he would forgo the twelve-race series circled the pit area.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The question now is where Stewart will land in 2017. He is one of three high-profile\u00a0250 stars\u00a0leaving the class (Cooper Webb and Jeremy Martin being the other two) and among a long list of riders that is without a signed\/announced deal. Does GEICO Honda continue to field a 450 program with Team Honda HRC\u2019s assistance or will Stewart ride for another brand altogether?
